The award will be presented at the 2018 mParks Annual Conference and Trade Show at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center on Feb. 7.

The Hills and Drills(H&D) program was developed by and is sponsored by Advanced Physical Therapy Center and Bauman’s Running and Walking Shop. It is held weekly during the spring and summer months at Grand Blanc Parks & Recreation’s Creasey Bicentennial Park.

H&D is a drop-in program with weekly workouts designed and led by experts in running and performance improvement. Participants go through a monitored warm up and do a variety of strength and conditioning exercises, including running or walking up the sledding hill as many times as possible.

The program is described as a self-monitored workout group for people of all fitness levels to come together to work hard and have fun. The program has continued to grow over the past three years and during the peak of summer training had well over 100 people attending.

Advanced Physical Therapy Center (APTC) is a physical therapy, occupational therapy, and sports medicine clinic with locations in Grand Blanc, Flint, Clio, Hartland, Goodrich, Clarkston, and Davison.
