Woman loses arm in accident

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 16 at approximately 8:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a personal injury accident at Maple and Howe Road. Upon arrival they found a 35-year-old Grand Blanc female and a 24-year-old Davison man who had been ejected from their motorcycle after failing to stop at the stop sign. The male said he was driving too fast, but also blew a .11 on a Preliminary Breath Test. The female was immediately rendered first aid and transported to the hospital, having suffered the loss of her arm. The driver was transported to the hospital and is pending further investigation as the results of a blood draw taken there. The female passenger was still in critical condition as of press time. — P.S.

Shooting up results in reckless driving call

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 20 at 10:14 a.m., officer on patrol responded to a report of a black Chevrolet pick-up truck driving recklessly in the area or I-75 and Holly Road and were advised he had entered the convenience store/gas station in the 9000 block of Holly and was asleep. Officers located the vehicle but it was empty and then found the 37-year-old Holly male in the store. He said his driving reckless was due to arguing with his girlfriend on the phone. He consented to a search of his vehicle where officer found a syringe on the floor. He was arrested and waived his Miranda rights, found to have a Suspended License and warrants. He admitted to taking Heroin about 30 minutes earlier and was initially arrested but then released pending further investigation. — P.S.

Serial shoplifter nabbed

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 19 at 2:39 p.m. in the 6100 block of S. Saginaw, officers responded to a call regarding Retail Fraud. Loss prevention officers reported the female, who was known for previous shoplifting arrests, had been observed both that day and on the 17th, scanning in the self-scan area but only scanning and paying for part of her groceries. She was arrested for the theft of $196.54 on the 17th and $272.45 on the 19th. Due to being pregnant, she was initially arrested but then released pending further investigation.. — P.S.
