GRAND BLANC — The 2019 Run4Wine is just around the corner. Sponsored by Team One Credit Union this 5k happens Saturday Oct. 13 from 5 – 11 p.m. at the Jewel of Grand Blanc, 5270 Perry Road. The 7th annual Run4Wine...a race party like no other. This fun-filled event is designed for men and women: race enthusiasts, walkers, and social butterflies looking for a good time while getting some exercise. Turkeys in the Park

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Lions Club hosts the 4th annual Turkeys in the Park Oct. 13 from 1-3 p.m. at Physicians Park, 218 Reid Road. This event features free fun for area children including a bounce house, face painting, kids’ games, and pumpkin painting. There will also be a raffle of 20 frozen turkeys and numerous other prizes. Tickets are available for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Proceeds will go to support Leader Dogs for the Blind and local projects. Fall Frolic Hike at Lost Lake Nature Preserve: October 14th

HOLLY — The Southern Michigan Land Conservancy will host a colorful hike through SMLC’s beautiful Lost Lake Nature Preserve on October 14. Pre-hike refreshments from 1:30-2 p.m.

Followed by a hike featuring a naturalist who will point out features of this interesting and peaceful landscape. If you like pristine lakes, beautiful fall color in the woods, and spectacular nature, this is the event for you! Be prepared for variable weather. No pets please. History of schools in Genesee County

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Heritage Association presents a public program Monday, October 15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m. at the Grand Blanc Heritage Museum, 203 E. Grand Blanc Road in the City Hall complex. Light refreshments will be served. Max Harrison, museum life member and early school researcher, will present a program on The Rural Schools of Genesee County. Prior to 1900, education was provided to students in the iconic ‘one-room schools’ scattered throughout the communities. Max will detail his findings of those buildings in Grand Blanc Township and elsewhere in Genesee County. Grand Blanc Women’s Club Annual Fashion show

GRAND BLANC TWP. — Grand Blanc Women’s Club members will be modeling fashions from Kim Rose Fashions, Oct. 17 at their 12:30 p.m. luncheon at the Flint Elks Club, 7177 E. Blood Drive

GOODRICH — The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Oct 18 from noon to 5:45 p.m. at the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road. Appointments may be made by calling 1-800-733-2767 or going to redcrossblood.org with sponsor code Goodrich UMC. Individuals 17 years and older who are in good health may donate blood. Bar Association holds Clean Slate Clinic

FLINT — Need your record expunged? The Genesee County Bar Association Pro Bono committee in collaboration with Legal Services of Eastern Michigan is hosting a FREE Clean Slate Clinic about Setting Aside A Conviction (Expungement).

The Clinic will take place on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, 436 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Individuals must meet eligibility requirements. Register by calling 1-800-322-4512 ext. 111.

5th Annual Benefit dinner

Veteran’s Art Show

HOLLY — The Holly Area Veterans Resource Center is sponsoring a juried art show Nov. 10, at Karl Richter Center, 300 East Street in Holly. Artists of all talent levels can apply, not limited to veterans. All mediums accepted including painting, carving, sculpting, and writing. Artists will be able to display and sell their creations.
